Peripheral Neuropathy:

Painful peripheral neuropathy is so common in the patients that sometimes patients are advised to live with pain. Peripheral nerves are the nerves attached to spinal cord.

Normally the peripheral nerves are damaged either because of trauma or disease process. The injury can be total transection of the nerve or a concussion injury to nerve wherein only axon might go into degeneration. Painful peripheral neuropathies are as a result of damage to the axon.

The symptoms may vary like burning, shooting, pins & needles sensation, icy feeling, lancinating, jabbing, swollen feet etc.
